Okay, but this only gets more heart-breaking when you think of those thoughts combined with the fact that now Deanknows what his mother looked like in her final moments. He knows; sight, smell, sounds, what John must’ve talked about when he was deep in the bottle and muttering with wetness streaking into his beard about Mary and the fire and monsters. Now Dean knows. And you can see it all clicking in the third gif. You can see the surprise, the shock and horror in his face.
